Next April 1, 2015, the dedication ceremony for a new IEEE Milestone to commemorate stereo sound recording and reproduction inventions of the early 1930s by Alan Dower Blumlein, will take place at the famed Abbey Road Studios of London.

The event will include explanations of the significance of these inventions, demonstration of some historic equipment and probably playing of some historic recordings.  The significance and nature of Alan Blumlein’s inventions will be explained in a lecture and the bronze plaque will be formally unveiled by the IEEE President.
